The Clean Addicts Recommends: Kind Kones Singapore @ Forum The Shopping Mall, Orchard
Kind Kones is not exactly new to the dessert scene.
It has three branches in Malaysia and is founded by Serina S. Bajaj, who loves making healthy desserts at home. She aims to make delicious ice cream for everyone – from the health conscious, vegan to just ice cream lovers.
We were so excited to try as we've heard a lot about it!
When we first saw the display, we were stunned by the wide array of flavours like Black Forest, Durian, Sea Salt Caramel, Pistachio Kulfi, Charcoal Vanilla, Mocha Almond and Haw Flakes.
They rotate the ice creams so we can have new options whenever we return! Gluten-free cones made from almond meal are also available, which are perfect for our friends who are allergic to gluten!
This is certainly not common for ice cream parlours in Singapore.
We had a hard time choosing, but ended up with a scoop of each - Strawberry and Coffee.
The Strawberry offsets the robust Coffee flavour and our Quinoa Crunch topping that provided additional texture to the ice cream. We polished this up in less than ten minutes!
Kind Kones also offers small baked and raw desserts at the display. And of course, we couldn't help but to order the Sweet Potato Brownie!
Sweet Potato Brownie [~$19 for two Scoops of Ice Creams]
The brownie has a rich, fudgey and dense texture. It was served warm and the contrast of the warm and cold temperatures made it 10x better.
If you offered to someone unsuspecting, he/she wouldn't be able to tell there's sweet potato inside... which reminded us of our own Flourless Cacao Fudge Cake!
The best part? We didn't feel sick after - just extremely full.
This is indeed the power of Wholefoods that we really advocate for!
Verdict: We love the delicious ice creams and I love the location. It is a great spot close to town with kid-friendly activities provided.
We tried other ice cream flavours and was impressed that they weren't very strong in coconut or cashew flavour like elsewhere. The texture is similar to regular dairy ice creams and was not overwhelmingly sweet or cloying.
It's safe to say that we've possibly have found a dessert joint that we ourselves can enjoy and spend our money to support!
