FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

1) ARE YOUR CAKES VEGETARIAN AND/OR VEGAN (DAIRY & EGG FREE)?

Yes. Our cakes are not just vegetarian and vegan.


They do not contain artificial colourings, refined sugars, preservatives, additives, cholesterol, shortening, vegan butter.


This is why they have a shorter shelf life compared to commercial cakes.


Although we may put ourselves at a disadvantage here, we stand by what we believe – sourcing and creating quality whole foods desserts made from our labour of love is the best for you!


2) WHAT IS YOUR LEAD TIME FOR YOUR CAKES?


We do pre-orders at least 7 days in advance.


Pre-ordering helps to avoid food wastage, which is a huge problem in Singapore's food industry.

Globally, 1/3 of food produced for consumption is wasted, totalling to 1.3 billion tonnes. If food waste were a country, it would be the third largest emitter of greenhouse gases, behind the US and China!


With such massive amounts of waste generated, and we truly would try our best to minimise it.


3) WHY DON’T YOU PROVIDE BAGS OR KNIVES FOR YOUR CAKES?


Similar reason to the above question.


We have a larger purpose of helping the environment and reducing waste, including single-use plastics like plastic bags and knives. Please be kinder and more understanding to save our Mother Earth.


Join us in our efforts to go green and Bring Your Own Bags (at least 10” in width) to store your cakes/treats!



4) WHERE ARE YOUR PICK UP LOCATIONS?


Greenwich V Mall along 1 Seletar Road or Upper Serangoon.

We will not be responsible for any damages, once picked up from us.

We would recommend you to travel by car/taxi and store the cake in a fridge within 1 hour for baked cakes, and 45 minutes for raw "cheesecakes" which have a melting point of 30 degrees.


5) DO YOU DO DELIVERIES?


Yes. Delivery will be $26 in most places and additional charges apply for Sentosa and Jurong.


6) HOW DO I PAY?


We cannot confirm your order until a 100% payment is made for all bites (items other than cakes), and 50% deposit for cakes through iBanking.


The remaining amount is required at least 7 days before the event date.


There will be no cancellations or refunds will be made once you have placed an order.


However, you could switch to other products of the same value, if you change your mind.



7) ARE YOU 100% ALLERGEN-FREE?


At Clean Addicts, we take your allergies and sensitivity to certain foods very seriously.


Our products are carefully crafted in a facility that is not 100% eggless, dairy-free, nut-free and gluten-free, BUT we do our best to prevent cross-contamination.


Our kitchen regularly prepares items with peanuts, and gluten and other allergens, we therefore, cannot say we are 100% nut-free, dairy-free, eggless or gluten-free.


8) ARE YOUR BAKES HALAL?


We are not a halal-certified bakery but our products do not contain pork, gelatin, or any kind of animal products.


9) DO YOU HAVE READY-MADE CAKES WE CAN COME AND PICK UP?

Unfortunately no. All treats are made to order, unless we have extras on hand that we will publicise on our socials.


10) HOW DO I STORE MY CAKE/TREATS?


For our flourless whole food fudge cakes, they are able to be refrigerated airtight for up to 7 days. To enjoy, take them out for 10 minutes and let it come to room temperature.

For the best fudgey and crusty texture, cut and reheat the base cake in the oven for 10-15 minutes at 170 degrees Celsius.  

For our cookies, store them airtight and consume within 2 weeks from collection date.

For our raw vegan "cheesecakes", they are delicate and need to be refrigerated within 1 hour of pick up. Keep them up to 7 days in the fridge, or freeze them up to 3 weeks. They taste like ice cream when frozen!

For transportation of our cakes, we do not recommend putting them in the boot of your car as it is hot and unstable. Please keep this in mind when you pick up your cake. Hold them when your hands are free.



11)  Why do you choose to use unrefined sugars?


Not sure if you know, but diabetes is a major problem here in Singapore.

Close to 10% of Singaporeans have diabetes.

Singapore had the 2nd highest proportion of diabetics among developed nations in 2015.

In addition to the over 400,000 people living with the disease, the Ministry of Health believes that about a third of diabetics don’t know they are ill. By 2050, the number of those with diabetes is expected to hit 1 million. This is a global epidemic.

We use unrefined sugars like dates, stevia and organic unrefined cane sugar because they do not spike blood sugar levels like how refined sugars do.

Of course, everything has to be consumed in moderation. You wouldn’t exceed the recommended amount per day if you watch your portion size.

We also do a lot of testing in the kitchen to ensure that our bakes are not laden with sugar.

Once you know how much bakeries add behind-the-scenes to make them tasty, you’d lay off them. We have never sold any cakes made with copious amounts of icing sugar, processed butter or shortening.
